Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients who are allergic to specific antibiotics or have a history of hypersensitivity. If severe allergic reactions occur during use, such as nausea, cold extremities, or respiratory distress, discontinue use immediately and inform a healthcare professional. Occasionally, hypersensitivity symptoms such as vasodilation or airway obstruction may occur, and if these symptoms arise, use of the medication should be stopped. Transient stinging, discomfort, redness, and itching may occur in the eye, and if severe, it may progress to keratitis or serious skin reactions, so if symptoms are severe, stop use immediately and consult a doctor. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms have been reported rarely, so these symptoms should be monitored. Long-term use of this drug may result in resistant bacteria, so it is vital to confirm the infection-causing bacteria and use it for the minimum necessary duration. Long-term use may also lead to fungal infections, so if there is suspicion of secondary infection, use should be stopped immediately and alternative treatments considered. This drug may not be effective against specific resistant bacteria, so if symptoms do not improve, a switch to another appropriate antibiotic is necessary. There is a risk of tendonitis or tendon rupture, particularly in older patients or those taking steroid medications; therefore, if pain or inflammation occurs, use should be discontinued. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this drug, and nursing mothers should discontinue medication or breastfeeding. This drug is not recommended for infants under one year of age due to unconfirmed safety and efficacy. This drug is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid the tip of the bottle coming into direct contact with the eye during administration. To avoid contamination, it is safer to use this medication alone when using it in conjunction with others. During storage, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool place. Also, to maintain product quality, do not transfer to another container.
