Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to fluoroquinolone antibiotics. During the use of this medication, serious allergic reactions such as nausea, cold extremities, and difficulty breathing may rarely occur, so if such symptoms appear, the use should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Additionally, symptoms of hypersensitivity such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, airway obstruction, rash, hives, itching, and edema around the eyes may occur; if these symptoms arise, the use of the drug should be halted. Transient burning, irritation, discomfort, pain, redness, itching, chemical conjunctivitis or keratitis, facial swelling, foreign body sensation, photophobia, blurred vision, tearing, dryness, and dizziness may appear. In severe cases, it can worsen into serious skin conditions like corneal damage or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, so immediate cessation is required if these symptoms occur. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms may also occasionally occur. This medication should only be used for the minimum required duration after sensitivity testing to prevent the occurrence of resistant bacteria, and prolonged use should be avoided as non-sensitive organisms such as fungi may proliferate excessively. In particular, for the treatment of trachoma, an 8-week course is standard, and any treatment beyond that should be decided with caution. During treatment, soft contact lens use should be avoided if the product contains benzalkonium chloride. For pregnant women or women of childbearing potential, the safety of this medication has not been established, so it should only be used when the potential benefits outweigh the risks. During breastfeeding, it is preferable to discontinue breastfeeding or stop using the medication. The safety and efficacy in infants under 1 year old have not been established, so its use is not recommended. This medication is for ocular use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the tip of the container with the eye. It is recommended to avoid sharing and use personally only to prevent contamination. During storage, keep it out of reach of children and store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Additionally, to prevent misuse and maintain quality, do not transfer it to other containers.
