This medication is used to effectively lower blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once a day, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance ≥10 mL/min), dosage adjustment is not necessary. Severe renal impairment patients (creatinine clearance <10 mL/min) should not take this medication.

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to the active ingredients or similar class drugs, in women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, in nursing women, or in patients with severe kidney or liver impairment. Patients with fluid or sodium depletion may experience low blood pressure, so it is essential to check their status before taking the medication and to closely monitor blood pressure and status during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking other medications that may increase potassium should frequently monitor their potassium levels and use the medication cautiously. The use of this medication may not be safe in patients with vascular kidney issues or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation and should be carefully considered. If symptoms of angioedema occur, the medication should be discontinued immediately and not resumed, and patients with heart failure or after a myocardial infarction should also frequently check kidney function.
