Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with a history of allergy or hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. Shock symptoms, such as nausea, limb coldness, or breathing difficulties may rarely occur; if such symptoms arise, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought. Hypersensitivity symptoms such as cardiovascular collapse, angioedema, rash, itching, and breathing difficulties may also appear; if these symptoms occur, usage should be discontinued. Transient burning or irritation, redness, itching, conjunctivitis, keratitis, eye swelling, blurred vision may occur, and in rare cases, severe corneal damage or Stevens-Johnson syndrome may develop, necessitating immediate discontinuation. Hearing impairment or irritation symptoms may occur and caution is advised. Prolonged use of this medication may lead to excessive growth of fungi or resistant bacteria, so it should be used only for the necessary minimal period, and if a secondary infection is suspected, it should be replaced with another treatment. This medication has not been proven effective against Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), so if there is a clear MRSA infection and symptoms do not improve, it should be changed to a stronger anti-MRSA medication. Quinolone antibiotics can increase the risk of tendon inflammation or rupture, particularly in the elderly and those using steroids together, making it essential to stop use immediately if pain or inflammation occurs. The safety during pregnancy has not been established, so it should only be used if the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks for pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and breastfeeding should be ceased or use of the medication should be stopped if nursing. This medication should not be used in infants under one year of age as safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. This medication is for ocular use only and caution should be taken to avoid contact of the bottle tip directly with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is best to avoid sharing. Keep out of the reach of children, store away from direct sunlight, and in a cool place. To maintain quality, do not transfer to another container.
