Improvement of hypoalbuminemia in patients with non-target cirrhosis.
In patients with non-target cirrhosis who have adequate food intake but exhibit hypoalbuminemia, this medication helps to improve hypoalbuminemia. In situations where liver function is impaired and albumin synthesis is decreased, this medication normalizes albumin levels, improving nutritional status and contributing to overall health improvement. Therefore, it is used for the improvement of hypoalbuminemia due to non-target cirrhosis.
Typically, 1 pouch is administered orally three times a day after meals for adults.
This medication should not be used in patients with congenital maple syrup urine disease. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, abdominal bloating, abdominal discomfort, and nausea may occur during treatment; if these symptoms arise, dosage should be reduced or temporarily discontinued. Additionally, it may affect kidney function, leading to an increase in blood BUN levels, so dosage should be adjusted if renal dysfunction is suspected. Metabolic disorders that can elevate blood ammonia levels might also occur; in such cases, dosage reduction or discontinuation is necessary. This medication is not expected to be effective in patients with severely impaired liver function or severe hepatic encephalopathy. Since this medication contains only branched-chain amino acids, it does not supply all necessary amino acids, making it important to consume enough protein and calories in the diet. When administered for a long time, caution should be exercised to prevent the deterioration of nutritional status, and if hypoalbuminemia has not improved after more than 2 months of use, alternative treatments should be considered. Elderly patients are at risk for metabolic disorders and should be treated with caution. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should only use this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Its safety in pediatric patients has not been confirmed, and there is no experience using it in this population. Finally, this medication should be stored out of children's reach, and it is safer and better for quality maintenance not to transfer it to other containers.
Not everyone experiences these, and they can vary from person to person.
This medication is sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a container that protects it from light. Additionally, to maintain the efficacy of the drug, it should be stored at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius.
