Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medicine can effectively lower blood pressure and improve blood pressure management in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan. The two components work complementarily to dilate blood vessels and regulate blood pressure. Therefore, it is used to assist in the treatment of essential hypertension and to maintain stable blood pressure.
The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). If blood pressure control is not achieved after adjusting the dosage with individual components (amlodipine or valsartan), switching to this medication may be considered. For patients with kidney impairment: in cases of mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance above 10 mL/min)
The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, the use of this medication is not recommended.
This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should not be used by women who are pregnant or may become pregnant. Patients allergic to this medication's main ingredients or similar compounds and those with severe kidney or liver diseases should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels may experience low blood pressure, so it's important to control the condition well before taking this medication and monitor blood pressure carefully during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels should regularly check their potassium levels, as taking this medication along with other potassium-containing medications may increase potassium concentration. Patients with renal vascular issues or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation should closely monitor renal function while taking this medication. If symptoms of angioedema such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from myocardial infarction may experience changes in renal function or low blood pressure when taking this medication, necessitating regular check-ups. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Care should be taken regarding drug interactions when taken with other antihypertensive medications, potassium-sparing diuretics, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and blood pressure and renal function should be monitored frequently. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised against taking this medication, and those planning to become pregnant should consult a physician. The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been adequately established, so use in children is not recommended.
