Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (including erosive esophagitis), treatment and prevention of recurrence of Helicobacter pylori positive peptic ulcers, relief of gastrointestinal symptoms associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers, treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, maintenance therapy effect for prevention of rebleeding from gastric ulcers.
This medication is used for the treatment of erosive esophagitis due to gastroesophageal reflux disease and for maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence in patients with esophagitis. It is also effective in treating and preventing recurrence of duodenal ulcers and peptic ulcers associated with Helicobacter pylori positivity. It assists in short-term treatment of upper gastrointestinal symptoms caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and is used for the treatment and prevention of gastric ulcers in patients requiring long-term non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug therapy. It is utilized for the treatment of Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and for maintenance therapy to prevent rebleeding after intravenous infusion. In summary, this medication is widely used for various symptoms and conditions related to gastrointestinal diseases.
This medication should be swallowed with liquid such as water and should not be chewed or crushed. 1. Adults - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks for erosive esophagitis. If not treated, take for an additional 4 weeks. - Maintenance therapy to prevent recurrence of esophagitis: 20 mg once daily. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis: 20 mg once daily, may be administered as needed.
Adolescents over 12 years - Treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD): Administer 40 mg once daily for 4 weeks for erosive esophagitis. If not treated, take for an additional 4 weeks. - Symptomatic treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease without esophagitis
This medication should not be used in patients who have allergic reactions to certain ingredients or have had hypersensitivity to similar medications in the past. In case of overdose, there is no specific antidote, and appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a hospital. It should be kept out of reach of children in a safe place. Urticaria, angioedema, anaphylactic reactions, shock, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, mucous membrane hypersensitivity syndrome, acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms), jaundice, hepatitis, liver failure, encephalopathy, bronchospasm, difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, severe headache, seizures, disorientation, visual disturbances, paralysis, increased blood pressure, severe symptoms.
