Symptomatic treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and acute exacerbations of osteoarthritis (short-term)
This medication effectively alleviates pain and impaired movement due to acute exacerbation of osteoarthritis for a short period of time and is used to treat symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It reduces joint-related inflammation and pain, helping patients to carry out daily activities more comfortably. It contributes to the overall improvement of joint symptoms and enhances the quality of life.
1. Acute exacerbation of osteoarthritis (degenerative arthritis): ○ Adults: Administer 7.5mg of meloxicam orally once daily. If symptoms do not improve, the dose may be increased to up to 15 mg daily as needed. 2. Rheumatoid arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis: ○ Adults: Administer 15 mg of this medication orally once daily. The dose may be reduced to 7.5 mg daily according to response to treatment. Do not administer more than 15 mg of this medication daily. Take it with water or another beverage during a meal. ○ In older adults or patients at increased risk of adverse reactions, treatment is usually initiated at a dose of 7.5mg daily. ○ Patients with severe renal failure receiving hemodialysis should not be given more than 7.5 mg daily.
Alcohol consumption of more than three glasses daily while taking this medication may cause gastrointestinal bleeding, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist before use. This medication may increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, especially severe problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke may occur, so caution is needed for patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors. This medication may cause severe gastrointestinal adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, and may be more dangerous in elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease, so immediate consultation with medical personnel is required if symptoms occur. This medication may cause serious skin reactions and life-threatening hypersensitivity reactions, so if symptoms appear such as skin rash or mucosal damage, administration must be stopped immediately. This medication may affect kidney function, so patients with kidney disease, elderly patients, and those taking diuretics should carefully monitor kidney function. This medication may cause elevated liver function tests, so patients with liver disease should undergo regular liver function tests and should discontinue use if there are any abnormal signs. This medication should not be given to patients with hypersensitivity to aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, as well as those with a history of asthma or gastrointestinal bleeding. This medication interacts with many other drugs, so caution is needed when used in combination with anticoagulants, lithium, methotrexate, diuretics, antihypertensive agents, etc., and it should be taken strictly according to medical personnel's instructions. In the elderly, kidney, liver, and heart functions may weaken, so it should be administered at the lowest effective dose with careful monitoring for adverse reactions. In case of overdose, gastric lavage and general supportive therapy may be required, and emergency treatment should be obtained immediately if severe symptoms occur.
