This medication is effective for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as frozen shoulder syndrome, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also used for various central nervous system disorders such as spastic paralysis due to neurological conditions, cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, sequelae of spinal cord injury, and cerebral palsy. This medication helps relieve muscle stiffness and pain, improving patients' mobility and daily activities. Hence, it is used to alleviate muscle stiffness and pain caused by musculoskeletal and neurological disorders.

How to take

Adult dose

As Eperisone Hydrochloride, take 50 mg orally three times a day after meals. Adjust dosage according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. In particular, those who are allergic to this drug, patients with myasthenia gravis, and individuals with genetic lactose-related issues should not take this medication. Additionally, patients with a history of drug allergies or impaired liver function should use this drug cautiously, as liver function may deteriorate. While taking this medication, various side effects may occur, so caution is necessary. Rarely, shock reactions may occur, and if symptoms arise, treatment should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. Abnormal liver function, kidney issues, anemia, and other blood abnormalities may also occur rarely, so the patient's condition should be closely monitored. Skin rashes or itching, neuropsychiatric symptoms (insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, etc.), gastrointestinal issues (nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, etc.), and urinary issues (urination problems) may manifest. Additionally, general symptoms such as weakness, dizziness, and decreased muscle tone may be experienced. Severe adverse reactions, including anaphylaxis, angioedema, and serious skin conditions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome, have been reported, so if symptoms like fever, rash, blisters, or eye redness occur, the medication should be stopped immediately, and the patient should seek medical help. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur during the use of this medication, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Furthermore, when taken with similar medications like Tolperisone Hydrochloride or Metocarbamol, visual disturbances may occur, so concurrent use is not recommended. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of using this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while taking this medication. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so this medication should be used cautiously in pediatric patients. Elderly patients may have decreased bodily functions, so it is important to adjust the dosage and take caution when using this drug.
