Relief of symptoms of osteoarthritis of the knee and periarthritis of the shoulder
This medication is used primarily to treat osteoarthritis occurring in the knee joint and periarthritis occurring in the tissues around the shoulder.
Generally administered to adults once a week, with 1 vial for 3 consecutive weeks either intra-articularly in the knee joint or in the shoulder joint (shoulder joint cavity, subacromial bursa, or biceps tendon sheath), but the frequency may be adjusted according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to the ingredients. Patients with allergies to other medications or a history of liver dysfunction should use with caution. If there are skin disorders or infections at the injection site, it should be administered cautiously. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as allergic reactions, edema, rash, or itching may occur, and if such symptoms arise, usage should be immediately stopped and a doctor consulted. Temporary pain, swelling, redness, or warmth at the injection site may occur, so care is necessary. Symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, or fever may also appear, and if there are any abnormal symptoms, they should be reported. In cases of severe arthritis, it is advisable to use this medication after the inflammation has subsided. After injection, it is preferable to stabilize the injection site and avoid excessive movement. Accuracy in injection is crucial to prevent the medication from leaking outside the joint, and it is important to administer it in a sterile condition. If there is no effect, usage should be stopped after three applications. It is advisable to drain any fluid accumulation in the joint before using the drug. It should not be injected into blood vessels or the eye, and a 22-23 gauge needle is appropriate. Care should be taken as mixing with certain disinfectants may cause precipitation. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should consult a doctor as the use of this medication may not be safe. Nursing mothers are advised to avoid breastfeeding as the drug may pass into breast milk. The safety of this medication has not been established in children, so it should be used cautiously only when necessary. Elderly patients should use it with more caution as their physical functions may be reduced.
