Thioctic acid supplementation; treatment of inner ear hearing loss (toxic or noise-induced) and Leigh syndrome
Thioctic acid is used to aid energy metabolism during intense physical labor and is applied in the treatment of rare encephalitis such as Leigh syndrome, as well as toxic hearing loss caused by streptomycin or kanamycin and noise-induced inner ear hearing loss. It is generally recommended not to continue use if there is no effect after approximately one month. This medication helps relieve the symptoms of these conditions.
