Naproxen is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug used to alleviate symptoms in patients with osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. However, this medication carries a risk of developing gastric or duodenal ulcers, so it should be used cautiously when symptom control is insufficient with low-dose naproxen or other nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. These medications help reduce inflammation and alleviate pain, improving joint function in patients.
