This medication is used to alleviate symptoms such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, heartburn due to excessive stomach acid, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching. It neutralizes stomach acid and improves symptoms through its antacid action, and helps protect the gastric mucosa to promote gastrointestinal health. Therefore, it is effective in reducing digestive discomfort and stabilizing the patient's gastric condition.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 g of AlmaGate per dose, 3 times a day, chewed and taken orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken before bedtime if needed.

Child dose

Children aged 12 and older should take AlmaGate as 1 g per dose, 3 times a day, chewed and taken orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken before bedtime if needed.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken by individuals who have an allergic reaction to this drug or its components. Also, individuals with Alzheimer's disease, hemorrhoids, significant fluid retention causing swelling, preeclampsia, diarrhea, or suspected gastrointestinal bleeding should not take this medication. Since this medication contains lactose, individuals with a hereditary problem digesting lactose should avoid taking it. It is advisable not to take this medication concurrently with tetracycline antibiotics, as both drugs may interfere with each other's absorption. Individuals taking other medications should consult their doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication, as it may affect the absorption or excretion of other drugs. In particular, those taking non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatments, digitalis preparations, chlorpromazine, lansoprazole, prednisolone, penicillin, quinolones, iron preparations, etc., should take this medication with a 2-3 hour interval. Individuals taking salicylates should be cautious as this medication may increase excretion through the kidneys. Individuals with poor kidney function should consult an expert before taking this medication, as its magnesium or aluminum components may accumulate in the body. Individuals with weak bodies or those on low intake diets, as well as those with malabsorption disorders, should be aware that long-term use of this medication may affect bone health. Elderly individuals, those with gastrointestinal bleeding symptoms, pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, and breastfeeding individuals should consult an expert before taking this medication. If constipation or diarrhea occurs while taking this medication or if symptoms do not improve after 2 weeks, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist.
