How to take

Adult dose

Adults: Administer 1 tablet of 4mg twice daily after breakfast and dinner, or 2 tablets of 4mg (8mg) once daily with food. However, increased plasma concentrations of silodosin have been reported in patients with renal impairment, and plasma concentrations may also increase in patients with hepatic impairment. Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to its components, severely impaired kidney function, or significantly decreased liver function. Patients taking strong CYP3A4 inhibitors should also avoid using this medication. Such drugs can interfere with its metabolism and increase blood concentration. Patients with orthostatic hypotension may experience worsening symptoms when taking this medication, so caution is necessary. Patients with mild impairment of liver or kidney function may also experience an increase in blood concentration, so it should be used with caution. Patients taking antihypertensives, PDE5 inhibitors, or other alpha-blockers should also be cautious due to the risk of excessive hypotension from interactions with this medication. When taking this medication, side effects such as ejaculation disorders, dry mouth, diarrhea, dizziness, nasal congestion, and light-headedness may occur. Rarely, serious side effects such as fainting or liver dysfunction can occur, so if symptoms arise, consult a doctor immediately. Elderly patients may have decreased liver and kidney function, so a lower dose should be started and observed closely when initiating treatment with this medication. During treatment, blood pressure changes should be monitored closely, especially to check for symptoms of dizziness or hypotension when suddenly changing position. Additionally, this medication is not a cure for the cause but rather a symptomatic relief. If effectiveness is insufficient, other treatment options should be considered. Lastly, keep this medication out of the reach of children, do not transfer it to another container for safety, and patients scheduled for cataract surgery must inform their healthcare provider about taking this medication.
