View approved original text

This medication is recommended for patients with exogenous obesity who have a body mass index (BMI) of 30 or higher, or for those with a BMI of 27 or higher and risk factors such as hypertension, diabetes, or dyslipidemia. It is used as a short-term adjunct therapy in conjunction with exercise, behavioral modification, and calorie restriction when there is no response to appropriate dietary and exercise regimens. This medication should be used alone without combining it with other appetite suppressants. Obesity is determined by calculating BMI based on the patient's weight and height. This medication aids in effective weight loss and contributes to health improvement.
