This medication has not been proven effective against the specific resistant bacteria MRSA, so in cases of suspected MRSA infection or lack of symptom improvement, switch to another suitable antibiotic. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to discontinue breastfeeding or stop the medication while taking it. The safety and efficacy of this medication has not been established for infants under 1 year of age; hence it should not be used. This medication is for ocular use only; caution should be taken to avoid direct contact of the tip of the container with the eye during instillation.
