Improvement of symptoms related to musculoskeletal (painful muscle spasm) and nervous system (spastic paralysis)
This medication is used for painful muscle spasms caused by musculoskeletal disorders, such as shoulder-hand syndrome, pericapsulitis, and low back pain. It is also used for spastic paralysis due to neurological disorders, such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cervical spondylosis, postoperative complications, post-traumatic complications, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, and cerebral palsy, among various brain and spinal cord-related diseases. Therefore, this medication helps alleviate muscle stiffness and pain, improving the patient's physical function. It is used to reduce discomfort due to musculoskeletal and neurological disorders and effectively improve symptoms.
Eperisone hydrochloride should be administered orally as 50 mg three times a day after meals. Adjust as appropriate based on age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with known allergies to this medication or those suffering from severe muscle weakness. In addition, this medication contains lactose, and should not be administered to patients with a genetic problem digesting lactose. Patients with a history of allergic reactions to medication or with poor liver function should exercise particular caution when using this medication. During treatment, patients should be closely monitored for any rare severe allergic reactions or unusual symptoms related to the liver, kidneys, or blood. Various side effects such as skin rash or itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, nausea, constipation, and diarrhea may occur, and if any abnormal symptoms present, immediate consultation with a healthcare professional is advised. While taking this medication, drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur, so it is safer to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the benefits and risks of using this medication, and nursing mothers should avoid using this medication if possible or cease breastfeeding. The safety of this medication has not been sufficiently confirmed in children, so caution should be exercised.
Shock (severe allergic reaction), anaphylaxis, angioedema (severe swelling), toxic epidermal necrolysis and mucocutaneous-ocular syndrome (severe skin reaction), liver function abnormalities (elevated ALT, AST, ALP), proteinuria, elevated BUN (kidney abnormalities), anemia, urinary retention (urinary abnormalities)
