This medication helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases. It reduces the risk of myocardial infarction and stroke in adults with multiple risk factors for coronary heart disease and in patients with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, it lowers the risk of various cardiovascular complications such as myocardial infarction, stroke, congestive heart failure, and angina. In patients with hyperlipidemia, it is used to reduce total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol levels while increasing HDL cholesterol levels to improve the lipid profile. It is particularly effective in treating patients with dyslipidemia who do not respond to dietary changes or those with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia. Furthermore, it is also utilized in treating hypercholesterolemia in pediatric patients aged 10 to 17 who meet certain conditions. This medication is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and improve blood lipid levels.
