This medication is used to control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is suggested to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg monotherapy. 5/160 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 160 mg monotherapy.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so if pregnancy is confirmed, you must stop taking it immediately. It should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to this medication, pregnant women, patients with severe kidney and liver impairment, or those with specific decreased kidney function. Patients with insufficient sodium or body fluids may be at risk of hypotension, so their condition should be stabilized before administration, and blood pressure should be carefully monitored during treatment. Potassium levels should be regularly checked in patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that can increase potassium levels. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with renal artery stenosis, recent kidney transplant recipients, those with a history of angioedema, heart failure, and myocardial infarction, and it should be stopped immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. As this medication lowers blood pressure, symptoms such as dizziness and drowsiness may occur, so caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other specific medications, so if you are taking other drugs, you must inform your healthcare provider, and regular monitoring of kidney function, blood pressure, and electrolyte levels is required. Pregnant or breastfeeding women are advised not to use this medication, and women planning to become pregnant should consult with their healthcare provider. It is not recommended for use in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, as safety and efficacy have not been established. In case of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac side effects may occur, so adherence to the prescribed dosage is essential, and any abnormal symptoms should prompt an immediate visit to the hospital.

Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blistering, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities with cough and fever, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, vision abnormalities.
