Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension when using amlodipine and valsartan in combination
This medication helps to manage blood pressure more effectively when blood pressure control is insufficient with either amlodipine or valsartan alone in patients with essential hypertension. Stable blood pressure control greatly contributes to the prevention of complications such as heart disease or stroke. It is used to improve blood pressure safely and enhance therapeutic effects in accordance with the patient’s health condition using an appropriate dosage.
The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., morning). Before administration, it is recommended to adjust dosages using the individual components (amlodipine or valsartan). If blood pressure is not controlled, this medication can be transitioned based on the dosage of amlodipine and valsartan monotherapy. For patients with renal impairment, moderate and mild renal impairment (creatinine clearance above 10 mL/min) do not require dosage adjustments; however, severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance below 10 mL/min) and dialysis patients should not receive this medication. In cases of moderate renal impairment, monitoring of potassium levels and creatinine is recommended.
Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, therefore administration is not recommended.

Patients who are allergic to the active ingredients or similar classes of drugs, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, lactating women, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and patients with certain heart conditions should not be administered this medication. During the use of this medication, side effects such as dizziness, headache, swelling, hypotension, cough, indigestion, skin rashes may occur, and if any unusual symptoms persist, the doctor should be consulted. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised, especially if there is a rapid drop in blood pressure, and the patient should lie down immediately and seek treatment if necessary. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents, potassium supplements, or specific anti-inflammatory drugs, so patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist about any other medications they are taking. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid using this medication, especially during pregnancy due to risks to the fetus. Safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so it is not recommended.
