Precautions

This medication should be used with caution in women within the first 3 months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as taking more than 5,000 IU of vitamin A daily may pose a risk of congenital malformations in the fetus. Patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis, kidney disease, those allergic to this medication, infants under 3 months of age, patients with kidney stones, and those with hereditary diseases such as lactose intolerance should not take this medication. It is best not to take levodopa (a pyridoxine-containing preparation) during this treatment. Infants under 1 year of age, patients being treated, children exposed to sunlight while having a normal diet, patients with hyperoxaluria, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, premature infants and babies, patients with gout, and those with a history of kidney stones should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If side effects such as nausea, vomiting, itching, skin dryness, joint swelling, gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, rashes, or bleeding occur during use, immediately stop taking the medication and consult a professional. Particularly among women who are taking oral contraceptives or have a predisposition to thrombosis, there is a risk of thrombosis increasing with vitamin E intake, so caution is warranted. Long-term high-dose use may cause tolerance, and long-term high-dose pyridoxine use may lead to nerve damage. Additionally, high-dose administration may exacerbate peptic ulcers, cause glucose tolerance disorders, increase serum uric acid levels, lead to liver damage, and increase the risk of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women, so caution is necessary. The prescribed dosage must be strictly followed, and supervision by a guardian is necessary when administering it to children. Vitamin A contained in this medication is sufficiently supplied through normal meals, therefore, the supplemental dosage should not exceed 5,000 IU per day. Be mindful that this medication may affect urinalysis results and may cause the urine to turn yellow. Store in a place out of reach of children, avoiding direct sunlight and keeping in a cool, dry, and airtight location. Additionally, it is important not to transfer it to another container to maintain quality.
