Precautions

This medication should be consulted with a doctor or pharmacist before use for those who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks per day, as it may cause liver damage. This medication should not be used by individuals with allergies to specific components. For example, those who have hypersensitivity to chlorzoxazone or acetaminophen, or have previously experienced asthma when using this medication or similar cold medicines or analgesics should not take it. If symptoms such as hives, swelling, chest tightness, pale complexion, cold extremities, clammy skin, or dyspnea occur during use, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor or pharmacist. Additionally, if a high fever occurs along with a rash, redness, or blistering that resembles burns, or symptoms of asthma appear, seek professional advice immediately. This medication should not be taken with barbiturates, tricyclic antidepressants, or alcohol, as they may decrease the ability of acetaminophen to be metabolized and prolong its presence in the body. Caution is particularly needed with alcohol as it may increase hepatotoxicity. Since this medication contains acetaminophen, taking it together with other medications that also contain acetaminophen may lead to exceeding the maximum daily dosage and result in liver damage. Therefore, it should not be used with other acetaminophen-containing medications. Patients with severe liver or kidney disease, or those with a history of allergies should use this medication cautiously. Side effects may include allergic reactions such as hives, redness, and itching; though rare, severe symptoms like skin bleeding, angioedema, or anaphylaxis may occur. If liver dysfunction is suspected, discontinue use immediately, and symptoms such as gastrointestinal disorders, bleeding, drowsiness, dizziness, headaches, or excessive excitability may also occur. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should only take this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks, as its safety during pregnancy has not been established. Caution is needed when taken with alcohol or central nervous system depressants, as interactions may worsen side effects. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, and in a cool, dry place. It should not be transferred to another container to avoid misuse and maintain quality.
