This medication is used for painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal diseases, such as shoulder-arm syndrome, adhesive capsulitis, and lower back pain. It is also effective in treating spastic paralysis caused by neurological disorders, and is used for various sequelae of brain and spinal cord-related diseases, such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, cerebral palsy, and spinal cord injuries. How to take

Adult dose

Eperisone Hydrochloride: 50mg three times a day after meals, taken orally. Dose may be adjusted according to age and symptoms.

Precautions

This drug should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or myasthenia gravis. Also, due to lactose content, individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should avoid taking it. Patients with a history of drug allergies or poor liver function should use this drug with caution, as liver function may deteriorate. Severe side effects such as shock, liver dysfunction, kidney dysfunction, and anemia may occur infrequently, and if any symptoms arise, immediate medical attention should be sought. Various side effects such as skin rash, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, dyspepsia, urinary problems, weakness, and dizziness may occur, so the patient's condition should be closely monitored. Serious skin adverse reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome may occur; if symptoms such as fever, blisters, or eye redness appear, immediately discontinue use and seek medical attention. If weakness or drowsiness worsens during treatment, it is advisable to reduce or discontinue the medication, and precautions should be taken to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery due to possible drowsiness or impaired concentration. It is safer not to take this drug in combination with other muscle relaxants to avoid neurological complications. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should only use this drug when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety is not well-established. Women who are breastfeeding are advised to avoid taking this medication, and if necessary, must discontinue breastfeeding during treatment.
