Vitadibon Injection (Cholecalciferol)

Adult administration

Cholecalciferol 200,000 IU administered by intramuscular injection. Annual dosage should not exceed 600,000 IU of cholecalciferol.

Child administration

Cholecalciferol 200,000 IU administered by intramuscular injection.

This drug is an injection that supplements vitamin D, and when used with vitamin D fortified foods or other vitamin D preparations, you must check the total vitamin D intake. Regularly check calcium levels in the blood and urine; if they become too high, administration should be discontinued. Especially in cases of high calcium intake, it is important to monitor calcium concentration more frequently. Be careful to avoid glass fragments when opening the injection container, and caution is especially necessary when using it in children or the elderly. This medication should not be used by individuals with certain diseases or those who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Various side effects such as headaches, fatigue, muscle pain, digestive disorders, hypertension, and kidney issues may occur, so if abnormal symptoms arise, consult a physician immediately. Regularly check blood vitamin D levels and parathyroid hormone levels, and patients with impaired kidney function should have regular kidney function tests. It may interact with other medications, so be sure to inform healthcare professionals if you are taking anticonvulsants, diuretics, antacids, or anticoagulants. Excessive use during pregnancy can harm the fetus, so pregnant and breastfeeding women should not use it. It is advisable not to use in children under 12 years old due to the lack of confirmed safety and efficacy. In the case of overdose, stop administering the medication immediately, reduce calcium intake, and take measures to promote calcium excretion through adequate hydration and diuresis. This drug should not be mixed with other medications, and after opening, it should be used quickly, and any remaining medicine should be discarded. Store in a light-protected, airtight container at a temperature between 1 and 25 degrees Celsius.
