This medication is used for the treatment of gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers. It also helps improve gastric mucosal lesions caused by acute gastritis and chronic gastritis. For patients with peptic ulcers infected by Helicobacter pylori, it is used in combination with antibiotics to enhance therapeutic effects. It regulates gastric acid secretion when administered before anesthesia. Additionally, it is effectively used to alleviate symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease, thus helping improve and treat various gastrointestinal disorders.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients who are allergic to any of its components. It contains lactose, so patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. It should be administered with caution to patients with a history of drug allergies, liver or kidney impairment, those undergoing dialysis, and elderly individuals as their physiological functions may be diminished. While taking this medication, patients should be vigilant for symptoms of severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, liver dysfunction, or blood cell count reduction; should any unusual symptoms occur, usage should be immediately discontinued and appropriate medical treatment sought. Gastrointestinal symptoms may include constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, and loss of appetite, while central nervous system symptoms can manifest as headache, insomnia, drowsiness, dizziness, and malaise. Various side effects such as blood cell abnormalities, elevated liver enzyme levels, kidney dysfunction, skin rash, edema, and fatigue have been reported, thus requiring caution. In particular, if malignant tumors such as gastric cancer are suspected, this medication may alleviate symptoms, potentially delaying diagnosis; thorough examinations should be conducted if any suspicious symptoms arise. Elderly individuals should have their dosage and administration intervals adjusted as their bodily functions are compromised and should be closely monitored for any adverse effects. Patients undergoing dialysis may experience elevated blood drug concentrations, so administration should begin at low doses with careful attention. Pregnant women or those with childbearing potential should only take this medication if the benefits outweigh the risks under a physician's assessment, and nursing mothers are advised not to take it as it may be excreted in breast milk. Safety in children has not been sufficiently established, so it is preferable not to use it in pediatric patients. Lastly, this medication should be stored out of reach of children and kept in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
