Improvement of essential hypertension
This medicine is used for patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate effects with monotherapy using individual components. It helps to stabilize blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of complications and maintaining healthy blood vessels. Therefore, it is effective for the treatment of essential hypertension.
The recommended dosage for this medicine is 1 tablet once daily, regardless of meals. Adults should switch to this medicine after adjusting the dosage of Candesartan Cilexetil, and antihypertensive effects generally occur within 4 weeks of starting treatment. No dosage adjustment is required for elderly patients. Patients with reduced intravascular effective blood volume and those with renal impairment should switch to this medicine after adjusting the dosage of Candesartan Cilexetil. Patients with liver impairment should have adjustment according to their condition.
This medicine can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn, especially during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with a known allergy to any ingredients or sulfonamide derivatives in this medicine, pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant, and nursing mothers should not use this medicine. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, severe liver disease, or a history of angioedema are also advised not to take this medicine. Particular caution is needed for patients with low blood pressure or who have issues with fluid and electrolyte balance when using this medicine, and it is recommended to avoid taking it until symptoms improve. This medicine may increase the risk of skin sensitization to sunlight, raising the risk of skin cancer; thus, exposure to sunlight should be limited and protective measures taken while using this medicine. Common side effects may include headaches, dizziness, fatigue, and nausea, and serious side effects such as blood abnormalities or kidney function decline may occur rarely, so consult your doctor immediately if any abnormal symptoms appear. This medicine may affect kidney function, so patients with kidney disease should have regular blood tests to monitor kidney function and electrolyte levels. Drug interactions may occur if taken with other antihypertensive agents, diuretics, or potassium supplements, so administration should only be done after consulting a healthcare professional. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medicine, and nursing mothers should discontinue breastfeeding unless absolutely necessary while using this medicine. Elderly patients must be cautious as the medicine may cause excessively low blood pressure, leading to problems with the heart or cerebral blood vessels. In case of overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure, dizziness, or electrolyte imbalance may occur, and appropriate treatment should be sought immediately at a medical facility. The safety and efficacy of this medicine in children and adolescents have not been established; therefore, it is advised not to use it in patients under 18 years old. Patients may experience dizziness or lethargy while taking this medicine, so caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery. This medicine should be kept out of reach of children and stored in its original container to maintain its quality.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in mouth/eyes mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination changes.
