This medication is effective in alleviating pain from painful muscle spasms associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as cervicobrachial syndrome, periartritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also used for the treatment of spastic paralysis due to neurological disorders and can help with various neuromuscular diseases such as cerebrovascular disorders, spastic spinal paralysis, and cervical spondylosis, as well as sequelae resulting from trauma or surgery. With these effects, it reduces muscle stiffness and pain for patients, improving their discomfort in daily life.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. First, it should not be administered to patients with allergies to this medication or those with myasthenia gravis. Additionally, as this medication contains lactose, patients with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption should also avoid taking it. Caution is advised when administering this medication to patients with a history of drug hypersensitivity or those with poor liver function. It may worsen liver function, so such patients should take it carefully under medical supervision. This medication can rarely cause severe allergic reactions such as shock, so if any unusual symptoms occur during use, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment received. It may also affect liver and kidney function, leading to increased liver enzyme levels, proteinuria, and abnormalities in blood tests, necessitating regular monitoring. Various side effects such as skin rash, itching, insomnia, drowsiness, headache, gastrointestinal discomfort, constipation, diarrhea, abdominal pain, abdominal bloating, stomatitis, urinary retention, incontinence, residual urine sensation, weakness, staggering, general malaise, dizziness, muscle tone reduction, facial flushing, sweating, and edema may occur, so the patient's condition should be closely monitored. Especially, if symptoms of serious skin conditions such as Stevens-Johnson syndrome occur, administration should be stopped immediately and medical attention sought. Weakness, dizziness, and drowsiness may occur during use; if these symptoms are present, it may be necessary to reduce or discontinue the dosage. It is also advisable to avoid driving or operating hazardous machinery during the period of taking this medication. When taken with similar medications or specific muscle relaxants, side effects may occur, so it is essential to consult a specialist before combining this medication with others. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication cautiously, as its safety is not well established, and nursing mothers should avoid taking it if possible or discontinue nursing while taking it. There is limited experience with this medication in children, and its safety is not established, so caution is necessary. Elderly patients may have reduced physiological function, so the dosage should be lowered or used cautiously.
