Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension through the combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan. It helps effectively lower blood pressure, thereby reducing the risk of complications associated with hypertension. Thus, it plays a crucial role in blood pressure management and contributes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.
Safety and efficacy regarding pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and administration of this medication is not recommended.
This medication may cause severe harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not use it. Patients who are allergic to this medication or have severe kidney or liver dysfunction, a history of certain heart diseases or angioedema should not take it. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body may experience hypotension, so their condition should be thoroughly checked before administration, and blood pressure changes should be carefully monitored during treatment. Patients with elevated potassium levels or those taking medications that can increase potassium levels should have their potassium levels checked frequently. Patients with kidney abnormalities or those who have undergone kidney transplantation should use this medication cautiously as it may pose a risk of worsening kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and should not be re-administered. Patients post-heart failure or myocardial infarction should closely monitor kidney function while taking this medication and be aware of the potential worsening of heart failure. Patients with acute myocardial infarction or certain heart valve diseases may be at risk for angina or cardiac problems when taking this medication, so caution is necessary. This medication should be avoided when taken in conjunction with other angiotensin-related medications due to the risk of serious side effects. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and increased heart rate may occur, and immediate medical attention is necessary. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as its safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. Elderly patients are recommended to take a similar dosage as adults, but their condition should be closely monitored. Regular liver and kidney function tests are recommended during treatment with this medication. It is safest for women who are pregnant or breastfeeding not to use this medication.
Urticaria, severe swelling, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, paleness, severe allergic reactions, severe rashes with high fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, severe skin reactions, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory problems accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice, generalized lethargy, liver dysfunction, sudden and severe reactions.

This medication may be sensitive to air or moisture, so it must be stored in a tightly sealed container. Additionally, it should be kept away from excessively hot or cold places, ideally stored at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius.
