Treatment of hypertension and heart failure (reduction of cardiovascular disease risk)
This medication is used for patients who need to take both valsartan and rosuvastatin at the same time. Valsartan helps reduce the risk of hypertension, heart failure, and death after myocardial infarction. It is particularly effective for heart failure patients who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors, and reduces the risk of death in patients with left ventricular failure after myocardial infarction. Rosuvastatin is used to treat hypercholesterolemia and familial hypercholesterolemia, as well as mixed dyslipidemia, and serves as an adjunct when not controlled by diet and exercise. It also reduces cardiovascular disease risk and slows the progression of atherosclerosis. By using these two medications together, it is possible to improve the risks of hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and cardiovascular diseases simultaneously.
