Precautions

This medication is a topical steroid used to alleviate inflammation or itching on the skin. It should not be used in patients with bacterial, fungal, viral, or animal skin infections, as it may worsen the symptoms. Additionally, individuals who are allergic to this medication or have a history of hypersensitivity should avoid using it. Care should be taken when using it on areas with wounds, severe burns, or ulcers as healing may be delayed. It is recommended to avoid use in cases of perioral dermatitis or common acne, rosacea, or idiopathic pruritus. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, nursing mothers, especially children under the age of 2, and the elderly should carefully consult with a physician when using this medication. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, so caution is needed for those who have allergies to this ingredient. Using this medication may lead to skin infections, and side effects such as rash, itching, or skin irritation may occur. If symptoms appear, discontinue use and consult with a doctor. Long-term or extensive use may cause skin changes such as thinning skin or dilation of blood vessels, thus the dosage and duration should be adjusted. If this medication is used extensively or in conjunction with occlusive dressings, systemic absorption of steroids may occur, suppressing adrenal function, so regular check-ups are necessary. It should be avoided around the eyes as it can increase intraocular pressure, posing a risk for glaucoma or cataracts. This medication should generally not be used for eczema or dermatitis with concurrent skin infections, but if absolutely necessary, it should be used in combination with antibacterial or antifungal agents. It is recommended to use this medication only for short periods of up to 7 days, and to discontinue as soon as symptoms improve. Pregnant or nursing women should consider the potential effects on the fetus or infant and use the minimum necessary duration and dosage. For children, systemic absorption may occur more readily, leading to side effects, so long-term use should be avoided, and special caution should be taken in moist areas such as under diapers, where conditions are similar to occlusive dressings. Elderly individuals should be closely monitored for the risk of side effects during large scale or prolonged use. In cases of overdose, systemic steroid side effects may occur, so it should be managed appropriately according to a physician's instructions. This medication is not for ophthalmic use and should not be used on the skin for non-therapeutic purposes after makeup or shaving. Occlusive dressings should be used under medical supervision, and it is important to clean the affected area before use. Facial skin is especially sensitive to the medication, so it is safest not to use it for extended periods. Store out of reach of children to prevent accidents.
