Improvement of gastric and duodenal ulcers and gastric mucosal lesions, alleviation of excess gastric acid
This medication is used for various gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and gastroesophageal reflux disease. It is also effective in preventing Mendelson's syndrome prior to anesthesia and preventing ulcers after surgery. It helps in treating ulcers caused by the use of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs). It improves gastric mucosal lesions like acute exacerbation of acute and chronic gastritis, upper gastrointestinal bleeding, reducing pain and discomfort. It alleviates symptoms of excess gastric acid, heartburn, and belching. It is used for effectively protecting the gastric mucosa and treating related symptoms.
As ranitidine, administer 150 mg per dose twice daily, orally in the morning and at bedtime. For gastric and duodenal ulcers, administer 150 mg per dose orally twice daily, or 300 mg per dose once daily at bedtime. For duodenal ulcer patients, 300 mg per dose can be administered orally twice daily, in the morning and at bedtime. The same dosage is used for preventing ulcers from NSAID administration.
For children aged 8 to 18 years, 150 mg per dose (2 mg per kilogram of body weight), up to twice daily.
This medication should not be used by patients who have had allergic reactions to its components. Patients with a history of acute porphyria should also be cautious as symptoms may worsen with this medication. Patients with poor kidney function should adjust the dosage or interval as this medication may remain in the body for longer and cause side effects. Patients with weakened liver function should also be cautious when using this medication. Patients with a history of drug allergies, elderly patients, and those taking NSAIDs should be closely monitored for possible side effects. This medication may mask symptoms of stomach cancer, therefore patients with gastric ulcers or newly appeared dyspeptic symptoms over the age of 40 should verify malignancy at a hospital before using it. Patients with gastric and duodenal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori should undergo treatment to eradicate the bacteria concurrently. During the use of this medication, severe allergic reactions or shock may occur rarely, so if any unusual symptoms arise, take immediate action and consult a hospital. Various side effects such as blood cell count reduction, liver function abnormalities, heart rhythm abnormalities, digestive disorders, and neurological symptoms may appear, so monitor your physical condition closely. Particularly, if dizziness or drowsiness occurs, it is safer to avoid driving or operating dangerous machinery. This medication may interact with other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, consult your doctor or pharmacist. The safety of this medication is not definitively established for pregnant or nursing women, so it should be used cautiously when necessary. Safety in children has not been sufficiently confirmed, so caution is required when using it. Elderly patients may experience prolonged effects of the drug in the body due to decreased kidney function, so dosages should be reduced or the interval extended. If an overdose occurs, appropriate treatments such as vomiting or gastric lavage should be performed, and if necessary, blood dialysis can be used to eliminate the drug. Store out of reach of children, and do not transfer to other containers for safety. This medication may reduce gastric acid secretion, promoting bacterial growth in the stomach, therefore, long-term use requires regular check-ups, including ocular examinations.
Rash, fever, low blood pressure, angioedema, anaphylactic shock, granulocytopenia, elevated serum creatinine levels, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, myelosuppression, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, hypersensitivity, hypereosinophilia, liver function abnormalities (elevated AST, ALT, γ-GTP, ALP levels), hepatitis, bradycardia, heart block, tachycardia, vasculitis, constipation, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain

This medication may be sensitive to light, so it should be stored in a light-blocking container. Additionally, it is best to store the medication at room temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius. This ensures the medication's effectiveness and safe use.
