This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who find it difficult to control blood pressure with amlodipine or valsartan alone. It helps to appropriately manage blood pressure to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The 5/80mg dose is given to patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with amlodipine 5mg or valsartan 80mg alone. The 5/160mg dose is given to patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with amlodipine 5mg or valsartan 160mg alone.

Child dose

Administration in pediatric patients under 18 years of age is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be stopped immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be used by individuals allergic to the active ingredients or dihydropyridine derivatives, pregnant or lactating women, patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, and patients with certain heart diseases. Patients who are sodium or fluid deficient may experience hypotension, so it is important to monitor the condition before taking the medication and if symptoms of hypotension occur during use, they should be laid down immediately and necessary actions must be taken. Patients with high potassium levels should be cautious when using this medication with potassium supplements or drugs that increase potassium, and potassium levels should be checked regularly. Patients with kidney vascular issues or those who have recently undergone kidney transplants must closely monitor renal function when using this medication, as safety has not been established. If symptoms of angioedema occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and should not be reused. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should carefully manage their kidney function according to the doctor's instructions, as there may be changes in kidney function while taking this medication. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive agents or specific drugs, so be sure to inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications being taken. Dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and lactating women should also avoid use where possible. There is insufficient safety data for children, so it is not recommended for patients under 18 years of age.
