How to take

Adult dose

The dosage for this medication is determined based on the patient's condition, within the range of sitagliptin 100 mg and metformin 2000 mg. This medication is taken once daily in the evening with meals, with gradual increases in dosage. The extended-release tablets should be swallowed whole without splitting or crushing. For the 100/1000 mg extended-release tablets, take 1 tablet once daily; for the 50/500 mg or 50/1000 mg extended-release tablets, take 2 tablets once daily.

Precautions

This medication contains sitagliptin and metformin and is used in the treatment of diabetes. However, serious hypersensitivity reactions may occur while taking this medication, so if signs of anaphylaxis, angioedema, or severe skin reactions appear, discontinue immediately and consult a doctor. Serious side effects

Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, anaphylaxis, rash, severe allergic reactions, severe skin adverse reactions (Stevens-Johnson syndrome, exfoliative dermatitis), fatal or non-fatal hemorrhagic and necrotizing pancreatitis, acute pancreatitis, liver abnormalities (elevated liver enzymes, jaundice), sudden and extremely severe headaches, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, acute renal failure, significant decrease in urine output.

Mild side effects

Diarrhea, upper respiratory infection, headache, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, nasopharyngitis, muscle pain, limb pain, back pain, interstitial lung disease, pruritus, thrombocytopenia, rhabdomyolysis, vitamin B12 deficiency, hypoglycemia, severe and disability-associated joint pain, bullous pemphigoid.
