This medicine is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy with either amlodipine or valsartan. It helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications by effectively lowering blood pressure. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dose of this medication is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning) if possible.

Children's dosage

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed, as it can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters. It should not be administered to patients with allergies to any of its components, to pregnant or breastfeeding women, or to patients with severe renal or hepatic dysfunction. Careful observation of patients with sodium or fluid depletion is necessary to avoid hypotension. If hypotension occurs, the patient should be laid down and fluid therapy should be provided if necessary. Blood potassium levels should be monitored frequently in patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that may increase potassium. Patients with renal issues or those who have undergone kidney transplantation, history of angioedema, patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction, and those with aortic stenosis should use this medication cautiously. This medication may cause various side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, hypotension, cough, digestive disorders, skin rashes, etc., and patients should consult a doctor if any unusual symptoms occur. Caution is recommended as dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications, potassium supplements, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), and certain antibiotics; therefore, patients should inform their doctor of any medications they are taking. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid it. Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been sufficiently established, so its use is not recommended. Overdosage may lead to severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias; therefore, patients should adhere to the prescribed dosage and seek medical attention immediately in case of overdose. Patients taking this medication should have their blood pressure, renal function, and serum electrolyte levels checked regularly to ensure safe treatment.
