This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dosage is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g. morning). If blood pressure is not controlled after dosage adjustments based on individual ingredients, administration should proceed as follows: - 5/80 mg: For patients not adequately controlled with amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg as monotherapy.

Children's dosage

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and use of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm to the fetus or newborn if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy; it should be discontinued immediately once pregnancy is confirmed. It should not be used in patients with an allergy to the active ingredients or similar drug classes, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, patients with severe kidney or liver disease, or patients with certain heart conditions. Patients who are deficient in sodium or fluid must manage their condition before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension appear, they should be laid down immediately and may require fluid therapy. Patients with high potassium levels should take caution when taking this drug and potassium-increasing medications together, and potassium levels should be monitored frequently. This medication may cause various adverse reactions, with common symptoms including headache, dizziness, swelling, fatigue, etc. Caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or fatigue may occur. When used in combination with other medications, there may be interactions, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary, especially when used with certain antihypertensives, potassium supplements, or specific anti-inflammatory medications. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid its use. It is not recommended for children under 18 years of age, as safety and effectiveness have not been sufficiently established. Elderly patients may use similar dosages as adults, but their physical status should be closely monitored. Hives, severe swelling (angioedema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/ocular mucous membranes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, cough with fever accompanied respiratory abnormalities, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), extreme lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, consciousness confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis.
