Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, patients who are allergic to this medication or similar drugs, or those with genetic diseases that prevent the digestion of lactose should not take it. Additionally, patients with a history of drug allergies, or those with kidney, heart, or liver function issues, as well as the elderly, should use this medication with caution. Severe side effects may occur when taking this medication, so caution is needed. For example, allergic reactions, blood abnormalities, severe skin conditions, liver dysfunction, muscle damage, cardiac rhythm disturbances, consciousness disorders, nephritis, and pneumonia may occur. If such symptoms appear, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a doctor. Common side effects may include rash, dyspepsia, changes in blood pressure, headache, drowsiness, depression, and muscle pain, and patients should consult their doctor if these symptoms occur. It is important to use the minimum dose while monitoring the therapeutic effect, and to change to another treatment if there is no effect. When taking this medication, it dissolves in the mouth but is not absorbed through the mucous membranes, so it must be swallowed with water or saliva. Patients undergoing dialysis should take care when using this medication in combination with certain phosphate binders, as this may reduce the effectiveness of the medication. Also, this medication may reduce the effectiveness of certain antifungal agents or anticancer drugs when taken together, so patients should inform their doctor or pharmacist if they are taking other medications. Elderly patients may have reduced kidney function, leading to increased blood concentration of this medication, so the dose should be reduced or the interval between doses increased, and caution should be exercised. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication only when the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks, as its safety has not been established. Breastfeeding women are recommended to discontinue breastfeeding, as this medication may be transmitted through breast milk. The safety of this medication in children has not been adequately confirmed, so it should be used cautiously in this population. Lastly, this medication may conceal symptoms of gastric cancer, so it should be used only after confirming that it is not gastric cancer.
