Adult dosage

Administer a recommended dose of 25-50 milligrams once daily about 1 hour before sexual activity. In some cases, it can be taken between 4 hours and 30 minutes prior to sexual activity. Dosage can be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerance. The following patients should start with an initial dose of 25mg: - Aged 65 and above - Patients with liver failure - Patients with severe kidney failure - When taken with CYP450 3A4 inhibitors - Ritonavir

This medication acts by dilating blood vessels and may lower blood pressure; therefore, patients taking nitrate preparations or NO donors should not take it together. Patients with cardiovascular diseases must check their heart condition before taking this medication, and sexual activity is not recommended for patients at risk for heart issues, thus limiting the use of this medication. As this medication may temporarily lower blood pressure, it is advised not to use it if blood pressure is too low or too high. An erection lasting more than 4 hours requires immediate medical attention, as untreated cases may lead to penile tissue damage and loss of erectile function. When taking this medication with the antiviral drug ritonavir, drug concentrations may significantly increase, necessitating a dose reduction. Patients with hereditary phenylketonuria should avoid this medication due to the artificial sweeteners it contains. This medication is not to be used by individuals under 18 years of age or women, and elderly patients or those with reduced liver or kidney function should start at a lower dose. If sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and a doctor should be consulted. Visual disturbances or dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. This medication may cause hypotension when taken with other antihypertensives or alpha-blockers; therefore, careful attention to dosing intervals and dosages is required. In cases of overdose, appropriate treatment should be received based on symptoms, and drug removal through renal dialysis is difficult. This medication is for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and does not have a preventive effect for STDs, and concurrent use with other erectile dysfunction treatments is not recommended.
