View approved original text

This medication helps improve symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. The enlarged prostate reduces in size, facilitating urinary flow and lowering the occurrence of acute urinary retention. Additionally, it has the effect of reducing the need for surgeries such as transurethral resection of the prostate or prostatectomy. These effects allow for effective management of prostate health.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should avoid touching broken or crushed pieces of this medication, as it may pose a risk to male fetuses. This medication can cause mood changes or depression, so if such symptoms occur, medical consultation should be sought immediately. Patients with a history of allergic reactions or specific genetic metabolic disorders should not take this medication. Patients with liver function issues or allergies to certain colors should use it with caution. Although this medication is generally safe, side effects related to sexual function may occur, including erectile dysfunction, reduced libido, and ejaculation disorders. Rarely, long-term use may pose an increased risk of breast-related issues or prostate cancer, so caution is advised. During treatment, side effects such as dyspepsia, headache, and dizziness may also arise. The effect of this medication may not be immediate; if symptoms are severe, a check for other conditions is recommended. Doctors should confirm conditions such as prostate cancer before initiating this medication and provide sufficient information to the patient about the drug. During use, the volume of ejaculate may decrease, but it often does not significantly impact overall sexual function. Elderly patients can generally use this medication without special dose adjustments. This medication does not interact significantly with other drugs, making it relatively safe for concurrent administration. Women who are pregnant or nursing should not take this medication, as exposure during pregnancy may cause abnormalities in male fetuses. Safety in children has not been established, so it is not used in this population. There is no specific treatment for overdose, but care should be taken to avoid exceeding the recommended dose.
