Precautions

This drug should not be used by patients taking nitrates or NO donors, as it may lower blood pressure excessively. Patients with heart or vascular problems must consult a doctor before taking this medication, and it is advisable for those with poor cardiovascular status not to use it. Sexual activity itself can put stress on the heart, so patients with cardiovascular disease should have a thorough examination of their heart condition before taking this medication. This drug has vasodilatory effects and may temporarily lower blood pressure when lying down; thus, special caution is needed for patients with cardiovascular disease. Patients with unstable heart rhythms, severe heart failure, angina, very low or high blood pressure, or retinal abnormalities should not take this medication. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical attention is required, as leaving it untreated can lead to penile tissue damage or permanent loss of erectile function. Patients with specific heart diseases or impaired blood pressure control may be sensitive to this medication, requiring careful monitoring. Patients taking certain antivirals (such as Ritonavir) may experience significantly increased serum concentrations of this drug, necessitating dose adjustments. The artificial sweetener aspartame included in this medication should not be administered to patients with phenylketonuria. Patients who are allergic to this medication or its ingredients, those taking nitrates, individuals with cardiovascular diseases where sexual activity is not advisable, patients with severe liver or kidney disease, and individuals under 18 years of age or women should not take this medication. Use with caution in patients with penile deformities, bleeding disorders, the elderly, or diabetic retinopathy, as adverse reactions may increase with high doses. Common side effects include headache, facial flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, visual disturbances, eye swelling, eye pain, eye fatigue, dry eyes, conjunctival injection, throat tightness, rhinitis, nosebleeds, sinus congestion, hematuria, tachycardia, palpitations, hypotension, nasal congestion, epistaxis, pharyngitis, dyspnea, increased cough, fatigue, anxiety, insomnia, decreased memory, and more. Use caution when driving or operating machinery, as visual disturbances or dizziness may occur. This medication should not be used in combination with other erectile dysfunction treatments, and there may be interactions with certain antihypertensive drugs or antivirals, so it's important to inform healthcare providers of all medications being taken. It should not be used during pregnancy or by breastfeeding mothers, and it is also not for pediatric or female patients. In the case of overdose, symptoms such as headache, flushing, dizziness, dyspepsia, and visual disturbances may intensify, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed dosage. Keep out of reach of children and do not transfer to other containers.
