Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients with a history of allergic reactions to any ingredient in this medication. Additionally, since this medication contains lactose, it should not be given to patients with genetic conditions such as galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. Rarely, serious allergic reactions such as shock or anaphylaxis may occur while using this medication, so usage should be discontinued immediately and appropriate treatment should be sought if symptoms appear. Since leukopenia and thrombocytopenia may occur, blood counts should be closely monitored, and administration should be discontinued if abnormalities are found. Liver function may be impaired, so usage should be stopped immediately if liver enzyme levels rise or if jaundice symptoms appear. Skin allergic symptoms such as hives, rashes, and itching may occur, and if these symptoms occur, the medication should be stopped. Symptoms affecting the nervous system such as dizziness, drowsiness, and numbness may occur, so caution is needed when driving or operating machinery. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as dry mouth, constipation, abdominal distension, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, abdominal pain, belching, and taste disturbances may occur. If liver enzyme levels are elevated or if fever and rash appear simultaneously, the medication should be discontinued and a doctor consulted. Routine blood tests are recommended as fluctuations in platelet count or leukocyte levels may be observed. Other symptoms such as breast pain or swelling, palpitations, fever, facial flushing, tongue numbness, cough, shortness of breath, hair loss, and menstrual irregularities may occur, so immediate notification if abnormal symptoms arise is necessary. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should consult a doctor before using this medication, as its safety during pregnancy has not been established; it should only be used when the benefits are judged to outweigh the risks. Lactating women are advised to discontinue breastfeeding while using this medication, as it may be excreted in breast milk. Safety in children, especially low birth weight infants, neonates, infants, and children has not been sufficiently studied, so caution is needed. Elderly patients may have impaired bodily functions, so special attention should be paid to gastrointestinal symptoms and other side effects. This medication should be kept out of reach of children, and care should be taken not to transfer it to other containers as this may lead to accidents or degrade the quality of the medication.
