Improvement in blood pressure control for essential hypertension
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan.
The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water, regardless of meals. It is advised to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment (creatinine clearance 10 mL/min or greater), dose adjustment is not necessary; however, this medication is not to be given to patients with severe kidney impairment or those on dialysis. The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, so its administration is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients who have allergies to this medication or similar drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and those with certain heart diseases should not take this medication. Patients with reduced body sodium or fluid may experience excessively low blood pressure when taking this medication. Therefore, their condition should be carefully checked before use, and it should be taken under medical supervision. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking other medications that can increase potassium levels should have their potassium levels monitored frequently. Patients with vascular issues in the kidneys or kidney transplant patients, those with a history of angioedema, patients with heart failure, and those recovering from myocardial infarction need to take special precautions when using this medication. While taking this medication, side effects such as dizziness, fatigue, headache, edema, hypotension, skin rash, etc., may occur; if any unusual symptoms arise, consult a doctor. Caution should be exercised as dizziness or fatigue may occur while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other blood pressure medications, potassium supplements, diuretics, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), so be sure to inform your doctor about any other medications you are taking. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should avoid using this medication, and breastfeeding women are also advised not to use this medication. The safety and efficacy of this medication in children under 18 years of age have not been adequately established, so it is not recommended for use in this age group. Overdose can result in severe hypotension or heart issues, so care should be taken not to exceed the recommended dosage. It is important to regularly check blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels to confirm any abnormal findings during the use of this medication.
Urticaria, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, mucosal pain in the mouth/eyes, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, coughing with fever accompanied by respiratory disturbances, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe generalized lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, altered consciousness, visual disturbances, paralysis, urinary incontinence
