This medication is used for patients with hypertension and helps effectively lower blood pressure when it is not adequately controlled with amlodipine or valsartan monotherapy. It stabilizes blood pressure and reduces the risk of complications. Therefore, it is used for the treatment of essential hypertension.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning).

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, so administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Those who are allergic to the active ingredients or similar components, pregnant or nursing women, individuals with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and those with certain heart conditions should not take this medication. Hypertension may occur in patients who are deficient in sodium or fluids, so their condition should be checked before taking the medication, and if symptoms of low blood pressure occur while taking it, they should lie down immediately and rest. Patients with high potassium levels should frequently check their potassium levels when taking this medication in conjunction with other potassium-increasing drugs. Patients with renal vascular issues or those who have undergone kidney transplantation should take care as kidney function may deteriorate when using this medication. If angioedema (swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or airway) occurs, the medication must be stopped immediately and should not be taken again. Patients with heart failure or myocardial infarction should frequently check their kidney function and blood pressure while taking this medication, as symptoms of heart failure may worsen. Patients with acute myocardial infarction or certain valvular heart diseases should use this medication cautiously, as symptoms of angina or myocardial infarction may worsen. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, certain diuretics, potassium-sparing agents, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), etc., so all medications being taken should be disclosed. Caution is advised when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Overdosing on this medication can lead to severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias, so if symptoms occur, one should go to the hospital immediately. It is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been adequately established. Elderly patients can take the same dosage as regular adults, but their condition should be closely monitored. Regular monitoring of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels is necessary during treatment with this medication.
