This medication is used to effectively manage the blood pressure of patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning).

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in pediatric patients under the age of 18, so its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients who are allergic to the active ingredient or similar components, pregnant or potentially pregnant women, and nursing mothers should not take this medication. It is also safe to avoid this medication for patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, certain heart conditions, or a history of angioedema. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion in the body may experience hypotension, so their condition should be carefully assessed before taking this medication, and during treatment, blood pressure and symptoms should be monitored closely. In patients with elevated potassium levels or those taking medications that may increase potassium levels, potassium levels should be frequently monitored. Patients with renal artery problems or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation should be cautious, as renal function may deteriorate when using this medication. If symptoms of angioedema such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occur while taking this medication, it should be stopped immediately and medical assistance sought. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from myocardial infarction should have their kidney function and blood pressure monitored periodically when taking this medication, as rare cardiac-related side effects may occur. Dizziness or fatigue may occur while taking this medication, so caution is advised when driving or operating machinery. Interactions can occur when this medication is taken with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, diuretics, or certain anti-inflammatory drugs, so patients should inform healthcare providers of all medications they are taking. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, heart rhythm disturbances, shock, etc., may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention and appropriate treatment, if necessary. The use of this medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age due to insufficient safety and efficacy data. Elderly patients may receive doses similar to those for adults, but their condition should be closely monitored.
