This medication is used for the treatment of essential hypertension in cases where blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled with monotherapy using amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage for this medication is one tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, dose adjustments are not necessary, but it should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or those on dialysis. Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to this medication or similar drugs, pregnant women, or nursing mothers should not take this medication. It is also safe not to use this medication for patients with severe renal or liver impairment, certain cardiac conditions, or a history of angioedema. Patients who are depleted of sodium or fluids in the body should correct these conditions before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension occur during treatment, appropriate measures should be taken immediately. Patients with high potassium levels should use caution when taking this medication alongside drugs that can increase potassium levels and should frequently monitor blood potassium levels. Patients with renal artery stenosis or those who have recently undergone kidney transplantation should use this medication cautiously due to the risk of renal function deterioration. If symptoms of angioedema, such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, occur during medication use, it should be stopped immediately, and medical consultation should be sought. Patients with heart failure or after a myocardial infarction should regularly monitor kidney function and blood pressure while taking this medication and should inform healthcare providers if symptoms worsen. This medication is not recommended for use in children as safety and efficacy have not been established. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Overdosing on this medication can lead to severe hypotension or cardiac arrhythmias; therefore, the prescribed dosage must be strictly followed, and medical attention should be sought immediately if any abnormal symptoms occur. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs, potassium supplements, diuretics, certain antibiotics, and medications that affect liver function; thus, any other medications being taken should be disclosed to a healthcare provider. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, and nursing mothers should consult a physician before taking this medication and should avoid it during pregnancy.
