Efficacy & effects

Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension

  • Essential hypertension
View approved original text

Essential hypertension is generally treated initially with either amlodipine or valsartan, but when blood pressure is not adequately controlled with these monotherapies, combining both ingredients can manage blood pressure more effectively. Amlodipine relaxes blood vessels to lower blood pressure, while valsartan helps with blood pressure control by inhibiting blood vessel contraction. This combination therapy improves blood pressure control in hypertension and reduces the risk of heart and vascular diseases. As a result, this medication enhances blood pressure control in essential hypertension.
