This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan. It helps to reliably lower blood pressure when existing treatments are insufficient.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g. in the morning). Before administration, it is recommended to adjust the dosage with individual components (amlodipine or valsartan), and if blood pressure is not controlled, the following dosage may be administered. ㆍ5/80 mg: Amlodipine 5 mg or Valsartan 80 mg monotherapy.

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborns if administered to women in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be administered to individuals allergic to the active ingredients or similar class of drugs, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, or those with certain heart conditions. Patients who are dehydrated or have low sodium levels, high potassium levels, issues with renal arteries, recently underwent kidney transplantation, have a history of angioedema, or suffer from heart failure or myocardial infarction should use this medication with caution. This medication may cause various side effects such as headache, dizziness, edema, hypotension, gastrointestinal disturbances, skin rash, etc., so any unusual symptoms should be discussed with a doctor immediately. Caution should be exercised while driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur, especially when starting treatment or changing doses. Drug interactions may occur when taken with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, diuretics, specific antibiotics, grapefruit juice, etc., so all current medications and foods should be disclosed to healthcare providers. Pregnant women or those planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid its use. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children under the age of 18, so its use is not recommended. Elderly patients can be administered a similar dose to that of adults, but care should be taken to monitor their physical condition closely. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension or cardiac issues may occur, so the dosage should be strictly adhered to, and medical attention should be sought immediately in the event of an overdose.

Hives, severe swelling (edema), chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in the mucous membranes of the mouth/eyes, dyspnea or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory disturbances accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), extreme fatigue, sudden and severe headache, lightning headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances, paralysis, urination changes.
