Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension with the combination of amlodipine and valsartan.
This medication is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.
Take 1 tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The dosage should be selected from 5/80 mg, 5/160 mg, or 10/160 mg based on blood pressure control status. For patients with kidney impairment, no dosage adjustment is needed for mild to moderate cases, but it should not be given to those with severe kidney impairment or dialysis patients.
Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age, so administration is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters. Therefore, it should be stopped immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredient or similar substances, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, and in patients with severe kidney or liver disorders. Patients with diabetes or severely impaired kidney function should avoid taking this medication with certain other medications. Patients who are depleted of sodium or fluids should manage their condition well before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension appear while taking it, appropriate measures should be taken immediately. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that can elevate potassium levels should frequently monitor their potassium levels. Patients with renal vascular issues or those who have recently received a kidney transplant should use caution as this medication may affect kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema appear, the medication should be stopped immediately, and patients recovering from heart failure or myocardial infarction should be monitored closely for kidney function and condition during administration. This medication can be used in elderly patients at similar doses as in adults, but caution should be exercised due to possible dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery. In case of overdose, hypotension and heart problems may occur, so immediate medical assistance should be sought, and appropriate emergency care should be provided if necessary. This medication may interact with other drugs, so it is important to discuss with a doctor or pharmacist, especially if taking blood pressure medications, potassium supplements, diuretics, certain antibiotics, or heart medications. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should consult with healthcare professionals before taking this medication, and it is best to avoid use for safety. Safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established for children, so it is not recommended for use. It is important to notify healthcare professionals immediately and seek advice if any unusual symptoms or discomfort occur during administration.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with high fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or breathing difficulty, asthma attack, cough with fever and respiratory irregularities, yellowing of skin or eyes (jaundice), profound lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizure, confusion, visual disturbances.

This medication should be stored in a tightly sealed container to protect it from air and moisture. It is also safe to store it at room temperature between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius, away from extremes of heat or cold.
