This medication is used to effectively manage blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). For patients with mild to moderate renal impairment, dosage adjustment is not necessary; however, it should not be administered to patients with severe renal impairment or those undergoing dialysis. For patients with mild to moderate hepatic impairment, the daily dose of valsartan should not exceed 80 mg. Severe hepatic impairment, cholestatic liver cirrhosis, biliary obstruction, and cholestasis patients should not be given this medication.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion should correct their condition before taking this medication, and if symptoms of hypotension occur, they should seek appropriate action immediately. If symptoms of angioedema occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and not resumed. Patients with heart failure or post-myocardial infarction should carefully monitor changes in kidney function when taking this medication. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. There may be drug interactions; therefore, it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist when taking other medications simultaneously. Pregnant women, women planning to become pregnant, or nursing mothers are advised not to use this medication, as it may pose risks to the fetus during pregnancy. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age. In the event of an overdose, hypotension, dizziness, and in severe cases, shock may occur, requiring immediate medical attention for appropriate treatment.
