This medicine is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with either amlodipine or valsartan. It effectively lowers blood pressure to reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications, and can help those having difficulties managing their blood pressure.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (for example, in the morning).

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medicine can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy. If pregnancy is confirmed, discontinuation of this medication should be immediate. It is safe not to take this medication if you are allergic to this drug's active ingredient or similar medications, if you are pregnant or may become pregnant, or if you are breastfeeding. Patients with severe kidney or liver disease, certain heart conditions, and a history of angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body are at risk of significantly lowered blood pressure when taking this medication, so their condition should be thoroughly assessed and they should take it under medical supervision if necessary. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that can raise potassium levels should have their potassium levels monitored frequently. Patients with issues related to renal arteries, or those who have had a kidney transplant, should use this medication cautiously as it may worsen kidney function. If symptoms of angioedema such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue appear while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a doctor. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from a myocardial infarction should closely monitor kidney function when taking this medication, and caution is advised as symptoms may worsen in some heart disease patients. This medication is used to treat hypertension and has a blood-lowering effect, but overdose may result in symptoms such as hypotension, dizziness, and irregular heartbeats, so prescribed dosages should be adhered to. Dizziness or fatigue may occur when driving or operating machinery during treatment with this medication, so caution is necessary. This medication may interact with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, diuretics, and anti-inflammatory drugs, so if you are taking other medicines, be sure to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should avoid using this medication, particularly during pregnancy, as it may pose risks to the fetus, and they should consult a physician before use. This medication is not recommended for children under 18 years of age because its safety and efficacy have not been established in this population.
