This medication effectively lowers blood pressure and helps improve health in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose for this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water irrespective of meals. It is advisable to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Prior to administration, adjusting the dosage with individual components (amlodipine or valsartan) is recommended. In case of kidney impairment: Patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment (creatinine clearance greater than 10 mL/min) do not require dosage adjustment.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years; therefore, administration of this drug is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm or death to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Those with allergies to this drug's active ingredients or similar medications, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severely impaired kidney or liver function, patients with certain heart diseases, and those with a history of angioedema should not take this medication. Patients with fluid or sodium depletion may experience hypotension; therefore, their condition should be well-assessed before taking this medication, and blood pressure should be carefully monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that increase potassium should have their potassium levels tested frequently. Patients with impaired kidney function or those who have received a kidney transplant should carefully monitor their kidney function while taking this medication. This medication may cause a serious side effect known as angioedema; if swelling of the face, lips, or tongue occurs, or if difficulty breathing arises, the medication should be discontinued immediately and medical personnel should be informed. Patients with heart failure or those who have had a myocardial infarction may experience changes in kidney function or hypotension during this medication; regular monitoring is necessary. Care should be taken while driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. While taking this medication, there may be interactions with other antihypertensives, potassium supplements, or certain anti-inflammatories, so it's essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medication, and use is not recommended for breastfeeding women. It is not recommended for children under 18 years as it may not be safe for them. In the case of an overdose, severe hypotension or heart problems may occur, necessitating an immediate visit to a medical facility. During the use of this medication, regular checks of blood pressure, kidney function, and electrolyte levels should be performed to ensure there are no abnormalities.
